The Labour Party presidential candidate in the just concluded election, Peter Obi, has continued to maintain that his mandate was stolen, and has reiterated his resolve to reclaim it. In the statement he released via his verified Twitter handle as he arrived in Jos, Plateau State, on Wednesday, Obi said that he remains committed to reclaiming his “stolen mandate” and turning the focus of the people to true nation-building.

Sharing the photos on his Twitter handle, he said that he just arrived in Jos to thank his supporters, popularly known as the Obidients, in the state. He also wished the governorship and State Assembly candidates in the state who are contesting election under the platform of the Labour Party success at the polls.

A part of his statement read – “We remain committed to reclaiming our stolen mandate and turning our focus to true nation-building.”

The All Progressive Congress candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the winner of the election, but Peter Obi claimed that the election was flawed. He said that he won the election, and had since headed to court to prove that he won.

His recent statement about reclaiming his “stolen mandate” has sent excitement among his supporters, as they believe that somehow things would work out in their favour as the case has been taken to court.
