The Presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has said uniting the country and eradicating poverty would be the topmost priorities of his government if elected as president in the forthcoming general elections.

Prince Adebayo stated this when he paid homage at the palace of the Emir of Lafia, Sidi Bage Mohammed in Lafia, Nasarawa state, Monday.

He said if given the mandate, he would ensure total unity of the country by ensuring equitable distribution of projects and appointments.

He said Nigeria is blessed with so many resources and no citizen was supposed to be living in poverty, but the resources of the country today is in the hands of just one per cent.

“We will redistribute the resources to ensure that majority of our people live above poverty line,” he said.

The presidential candidate also promised to give constitutional role to traditional rulers so as give proper attention to the people as people can access them without protocol.
