The political troubles bedevilling former Enugu State Governor, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani, appear unabating, as residents and traders of Coal Camp Motor Spare-parts and Mechanics Market, Enugu, chased his campaign train away on Saturday, 11th February.

A trending video showed two sport utility vehicles driving out from the busy coercial community, making frantic efforts to drive away.

One of the vehicles had large speakers blaring campaign jingles of the former governor, but the traders, chorused ‘onye oshi’ (thief, thief) after every mention of the name of Chimaroke in the song.
Sen. Nnamani is popularly called ‘Ebeano’, and the people were expected to chorus ‘Ebeano’, but they chose to chorous ‘Onyeoshi’.

They also followed menacingly after the SUVs, apparently in a move to ensure that they (vehicles) left the environment.

The embattled Nnamani has been battling to retain the senatorial candidacy for Enugu East senatorial zone of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but his expulsion from the party for anti-party activities, have worsened his plight.

Nnamani is also accused of allegedly warehousing stolen funds of Enugu State in Pinnacle Oil and Gas Ltd, owned by Mr. Peter Mba, the party’s gubernatorial candidate, leading that another derogatory video dubbed “Ego Ndi Enugu”, translated to mean, Enugu State’s money, showcasing alleged financial sleaze perpetrated by Nnamani against the Enugu State people while he was governor and with Mba as an accomplice.

He was expelled by the PDP and automatically lost his ticket to run for election. PDP had earlier, suspended him due to anti-party activities.
