Rivers United will play their CAF Confederation Cup home matches at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

The Nigerian champions home ground, the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt was not approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

CAF requested the Port Harcourt club to look for a new avenue as their home stadium did not meet the standard requirements to host international matches.

Fans of the club will now have to travel to Uyo to watch their team play in the competition.

Stanley Eguma’s side will face Asec Mimosa of Cote d’Ivoire, Congo’s Dable Noirs and DC Motema Pembe of Democratic Republic of Congo in Group B of the competition.

The Pride of Rivers will host ASEC Mimosa in their first home game seven days later.
