Fortune smiled on Gerald Chukwunonso Okoro on Friday, January 6, as he became a landlord in Enugu through Globacom’s ongoing Festival of Joy promo.
For Okoro, the house is a breath of fresh air as he and his family ended 2022 with challenges. But his story changed through the Glo Festival of Joy promo  when he emerged winner of a three-bedroom apartment on Thursday, January 5, in Enugu. Okoro received the keys to the apartment at a colourful event on Friday, January 6, in the state capital.
He disclosed that he had just paid for a rented apartment and was worried about how to mobilize funds to furnish the place.

Added to this challenge, his sister had been on admission in the hospital since December and he had been there with her until the life-changing call came from Globacom.
“It is Globacom that has brought such good news to brighten the horizon for me.

“This is the first joyous thing giving us hope this year. Every member of the family is delighted”, he disclosed.
“I am still in shock. My head is spinning. It is like a mirage. I opted to take part in the promo, but with what I have been going through caring for my sister in the hospital, the last thing on my mind was such a call from Globacom”, said the lawyer who put off calls to his line several times before finally answering.
The 25-year-old Okoro, who is yet to attend Law School, disclosed that he has been  involved for some time in organizing shows and handling models for some time now in Enugu State, as such “marriage is not in the dictionary for now”, he disclosed.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Chief Obi Kama, who was Special Guest at the event, lauded Globacom for  such a huge subscriber-reward programme. “Globacom has done well having the interest of its subscribers at heart and delivering great prizes to them just for using their lines”, he noted.
The Coordinator of the Enugu Zonal Office of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Mr Oliver Maduka, said the NLRC had been keenly following the promo and was impressed with Globacom for keeping faith with its promise to subscribers.
“What Glo is doing is second to none. Glo has been doing its promos the right way. I am so excited for the winner because he emerged from a very transparent process. It is a level playing field and anyone can win”, he said.
In his address at the presentation event, Globacom’s Regional Manager, Mr Mike Ehumadu, disclosed that apart from the houses, the Glo Festival of Joy promo is also offering thousands of other amazing prizes including brand new cars, power generators, sewing machines and rechargeable fans to subscribers.
“To participate in this promo, voice and data customers just have to dial the dedicated short code *611# and recharge with N500 weekly to stand a chance to win the rechargeable fan, N2,500 monthly recharge for the Sewing Machine, N5,000 monthly recharge for the generator, N10,000 monthly recharge for the car and data subscription(s) of at least N20,000 during the promo period for the house,” he added.
