Insecurity: Bandits threaten  Zamfara governor’s campaign team

Hundreds of people narrowly escaped abduction from the hands of kidnappers when a large number of bandits blocked  and attacked people along anka gummi road in zamfara state.

The tragedy happened few minutes before the arrival of the governor’s convoy to the area in continuation of his state wide electioneering campaigning to the people of Anka emirate.

Eyewitness account told our reporter that the hoodlums were in a large number on their motorcycles carrying different dangerous weapons.

Dressed in full black arrives, according  to the eye witness, who also gave his name as Isah Mai Icce, the, the criminals began to shout violently as they were crossing the main road to where they carried out their evil operation.

“when the people who come from Gusau to Anka discovered that something strange was happening they began to make it turn with their vehicles and it is believed that they wanted to attack the convey of the governor which was on its way to Anka,” added they eye witness.

With this unhealthy development our reporter reliably gathered that the large number of people that follow the campauign team have now reduced for fear of being attacked  by the bandits.

It was also gathered that even the organizers of the campaign have changed strategy as they now go earlier and come earlier that the time they fixed earlier before the attack and hurriedly they return home for fears.

Many people who spoke to the authority shortly after the happening expressed their fears and whether Dr. not to continue to following the campaign team.

Hajiya Lubabatu Musa a popular woman political in the state told our reporter that she was scared extremely over the incident, “I was shocked and scared, because we were at back, in fact we just left Gusau by just about 40 minutes when we received called from one of our friend asking us worriedly “Kuna ina”. Meaning where  are you. I swiftly told here that we have just left Gusau and now said please stay where you are there is danger as bandits blocked the road abducting people”.

Lubabatu disclosed that their vehicle immediately turned to Gusau, adding that “initially we follow the campaign team just because of Abdulaziz Yari and all the people that we there are all not for the governor, everybody in that gathering is Therefore Abdulaziz Yari who also confidently happened to be the chairman of the campaign council.”
