Sunday’s Arise TV anchor, Charles Aniagolu mocked Asiwaju Bola Tinubu at the end of the latest townhall meetings with presidential candidates with the innuendo that charity begins at home.

He spoke at the end of the two hour town hall that featured the leading presidential candidates, Rabiu Kwakwanso, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi respectively of the NNPP, PDP and Labour Party.

Tinubu who is the candidate of the APC had left the country on Sunday ahead of the townhall meetings on a tour of some western countries, including a lecture to be delivered in London at Chatham House and is billed to feature there at 1pm GMT, Monday,  5th December, 2022.

Even before his departure, Tinubu had raised issues with Arise TV, writing the television station not to bother inviting him for its townhall meetings as he vowed not to honour any of its invitations.

He had insisted that he was organizing his own townhall meetings.

However, as the townhall meeting ended on Sunday, December 4, 2022, Charles Aniagolu insisted that the townhall was not just an initiative of Arise TV, but of the Nigerian media, saying that all candidates had it as an obligation to present themselves for scrutiny before the media in Nigeira.

Rubbing in the fact that Tinubu was expected to present himself at Chatham House the following day (Monday), he emphasised that Charity begins at home, as he opened the door for Tinubu to present himself at the next townhall.
