The Court of Appeal Sokoto Division on Wednesday, November 23, delivered judgment in an appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Zamfara State Chapter and her purported 2023 governorship candidate, Mr Dauda Lawan Dare.

The appeal was against the judgment of the Federal High Court, Gusau, delivered on September 16 which nullified the Primary Election of Zamfara PDP for non-compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2022 and PDP guidelines for the conduct of Primary Elections.

In a unanimous decision by the three Justices of the Court of Appeal, Justice M L Shuaibu JCA, the Presiding Justice of the Court of Appeal Sokoto Division who delivered the judgment, held that the appeal is an academic exercise.

The appeal was therefore dismissed with a cost of N100,000 against the appellants.
