The Presidential Candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 election, Mr. Peter Obi, is again leading other key presidential candidates in an opinion survey being conducted by a Kano-based independent newspaper, Arewa Trust, with a very wide margin.

When NewsdeskAfrica made a randomcheck on the result of voting by respondents today’s morning, Obi was making an unassailable lead ahead of the other candidates (APC’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu; PDP’s Atiku Abubakar, and NNPP’s Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso), scoring 80.44% of the votes as at the close of voting on Monday, October 3.
The Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was trailing a distant second with 13,78% of the votes, with Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) coming third with 3.11%.
Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was struggling with the rear with only 2.67% of the votes cast in his favour.
Recall that this result is consistent with those of previous polls conducted by credible local and international organisations which showed Obi and his Labour Party clearly in the led as the preferred candidate in the February 2023 presidential poll.
The previous opinion polls included the surveys by ANAP Foundation conducted by NOI Polls and the one conducted by Bloomberg, an international polling agency.
Obi’s campaign is being driven mainly by the Nigerian youths who have embarked on series of massive Obidient and Obi-Datti rallies across the country, to express their frustrations over the not-too-palatable management of the nation’s human and material resources by the PDP which had ruled for 18 years and the APC, now in the saddle for almost eight years.
The hallmark of leadership by the two political parties showed growing corruption, increasing level of insecurity, food scarcity and spiralling inflation, loss of hope for the future of the Nigerian children and general hopelessness among Nigerians with no hope in sight of solutions by the political leadership.
