The Labour Party in Enugu State Friday, held its town hall meeting at the Royal Palace Hotel, Enugu, with unprecedented crowd in attendance.

The meeting which took place at Royal Place Hotel attracted a large crowd of both the supporters of Bar. Chijioke Edeoga the Governorship candidate of Labour Patty in the sate and other candidates of the party both in National and State level, support groups, men and women from different local governments in Enugu State.

In attendance was the South East Vice Chairman of the party Chief Innocent Sunday Okeke, the state chairman of the party comrade Casmier Agbo, the Governorship flag bearer of the party in Enugu Bar Chijioke Edeoga, the Deputy Governorship candidate, John Nwokeabia, the National and State assembly candidates of the party amongst others.

The Chairman of the party comrade Casmier Agbo in his speech said that the aim of the town hall is not to campaign but to harmonize different groups of the party.

He said and advised the supporters of the party to endeavor to register as members of the party from their different wards.

He added that the party is very ready to take over the power from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) come 2023. He berated the Peoples Democratic Party for not providing the basic needs of the people in the State, and added that for a long time the pensioners in Enugu have not received any pension from the state government which he is also a victim.

He added that no responsible government can comfortably see the primary schools in the state under his watch going on strike without doing the needful.

Also speaking in the meeting was the South East Vice Chairman of the party Chief Innocent Sunday Okeke who, in his speech, reminded the supporters of the need to deliver all the Candidates both in the state and national levels, and said that the struggle is not for the success of Peter Obi to become the next President of Nigeria.

He maintained that it is very important that they also make sure that Labour Party in Enugu State delivers both the Governorship candidate and also the National and State assembly candidates.

Chief Okeke stressed that if Peter Obi becomes the President of Nigeria without having backups in the National Assembly that all their efforts would be in vain because he may not last up to two months in Aso Rock.

Lending his voice, the Governorship candidate of the party in the state, Bar. Chijioke Edeoga thanked all the supporters for coming for the meeting, and reassured them that God is in control of the movement of Labour Party in Enugu.

Edeoga said that by the grace of God Labour Party will take over power in Enugu come 2023 .

He also told the supporters to resist any kind of intimidations from the ruling party, saying that it wont be the game as usual when PDP would intimidate the opposition parties and rig the election without any question.

He encouraged them to be strong and upright in the struggle.
