APC’s Oyebanji sweeps Ekiti governorship poll

*Wins 15 out of 16 councils, PDP one, SDP, none

The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Ekiti state, Biodun Oyebanji, has recorded a landslide victory in Saturday’s election.

Oyebanji, who was the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), under incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi, won in 15 out of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Chief Bisi kolawole, a former state chairman of the party,  secured voctory only his Efon Alaye Local Government Area.

A former governor of the state and the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni, surprised book makers as he lost in his ldo-Osi Local Government Area to the ruling APC. 

He ended up not even winning in any LGA, but however, won in his polling unit and ward.
