Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has joined United States First Lady Jill Biden and rock band U2 in making separate surprise visits to Ukraine on Mother’s Day.

The Associated Press reported on Sunday that Trudeau made an unannounced visit to Irpin, a Kyiv suburb targeted during Russia’s attempt to take the capital.

Little is known about the Prime Minister’s sudden visit to the besieged country, but in recent months he has repeatedly voiced his unwavering support for the Ukrainians.
