National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Presidential aspirant, Bola Tinubu, has said Nigerian youths can’t be blamed for being lazy.
Tinubu, who addressed APC youths at the weekend in Lagos, said Nigerian youths cannot be blamed for being “lazy” with erratic electricity supply in the country, adding that the country cannot experience “rapid development” without electricity.
He maintained that Nigeria cannot continue to give “excuses” for failure to generate a stable power supply.
According to Tinubu: “We cannot continue with excuses on NEPA failure. No! No nation can make rapid development without electricity.
“Give us that, and if we cannot be successful, you can abuse us. You cannot give us erratic electricity that is undependable and then blame us again that we are lazy. No!
“It is about time. We have enough gas to fire up our electricity. We can supply the rest of Europe with gas, and we can make money from it.”
President Muhammadu Buhari had in April 2018, described Nigerian youths as lazy, saying most Nigerian youths want to sit down and do nothing while relying on the claims that Nigeria is an oil-rich nation.

the Kanam and Kakura in Chikun local government areas of Plateau and
Kaduna states respectively
The YPP in a statement issued at the end of the meeting by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Egbeola Wale Martins charged the federal government to “go beyond the
laughable rhetoric of bringing perpetrators to book and act as the
book is already full on account of empty promises.”
The NWC, which expressed its loss of confidence in the president, regretted that it’ has, always been an effort in futility from government, trying to proffer solutions to the myriad of challenges confronting Nigeria, “especially when it makes no sense to a docile government not ready to act,
“As,a political party, we have lost faith in President Muhammadu Buhari and we
view his continuous defiant stay in office amid the nationwide insecurity as unpatriotic.
“Conclusively, the NWC call on the government to quit playing politics with the lives of Nigerians as the incessant killings don’t discriminate based on ethnicity, religion or party affiliation.
“The only feasible way out for Nigeria after painstaking deliberation is
for Mr President to resign as a mark of patriotism to give room for the emergence of a more sensitive leadership with the political will to act and inspire hope.”
The NWC also ratified its timetable and schedule of activities for the conduct
of the 2023 general election in accordance with the Provisions of the
Electoral Act 2022 (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) guidelines, adding that sales of nomination
forms for all elective offices, has already commenced since 14th
March 2022.
“While it released dates for primaries to elect it State and National Assembly candidates, the party stated that Special congresses/primaries for governorship aspirants have been slated for 28th May 2022 while the Special National
Convention/presidential primaries will be held on 1st June 2022.
2023: Zamfara APC depleted as Yari, Marafa defect to PDP

The Zamfara state chapter of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may have suffered a huge loss as former Governor Abdul Aziz Yari, and Senator Kabiru Garba Mafara have finally dumped the party with their teeming supporters to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party
Zamfara state APC has been engulfed in un resolvable crisis, since the State Governor, Bello Mutawalle joined from his former party, PDP
Addressing newsmen in Gusau, the State capital on Sunday, the PDP Chairman, Bala Mande said, the party has received Yari, Marafa and other top APC members who have defected to the PDP with their teeming supporters.
“We want to officially announce to you of the joining of our great party, the PDP, by the former Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Yari, Senator Kabiru Garba Mafara and their supporters”
“They are now PDP members, we have reached an agreement and we are going to implement the agreement.
“We have agreed to work together as one political entity in one party, the PDP for the success of the party in the State.
“We have also agreed to work extra hard to reclaim the lost mandate of Zamfara State in 2023 and save its people from their present predicament.
“I have given the stakeholders a complete update of where we are as a result of this development.”
The chairman noted that the two political heavyweights in the State would be officially received in Gusau, the State capital
Electoral Act: Six Kano Commissioners resign
Few hours after Kano state Governor, Abdulahi Ganduje directed that all his aides that are nursing political ambitions ahead of the 29023 elections should resign, no fewer than \six members of the Kano State Executive Council have tendered their resignation letters over their ambition to run for offices in the 2023 general elections.
The Governor stated that the directive was in compliance with Section 84 (12) of the newly amended Electoral Act.
Following the directive, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mustapha Sule Garo; Commissioner for Rural Development, Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso; Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Ibrahim Karaye; and Commissioner for Budget Planning, Nura Dankadai have all resigned from the offices in readiness for a political contest
Others include Sanusi Saidu Kiru, Commissioner of Education, and DG Hisbah, Aliyu Musa Kibiya.
Rivers 2023: Sen. Abe declares for governorship, backs Tinubu’s presidential bid
Former Rivers state lawmaker, Magnus Abe, who represented Rivers South-East Senatorial District, on Sunday, declared his intention to run in the 2023 governorship election in Rivers State on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Abe, who made the declaration during the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Vanguard for Wards 4, 5 and 6 in his Bera hometown, in the Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State called for a free and fair conduct of the party’s primary
Abe said he will support anyone who emerges the APC governorship candidate in a free, fair and equitable contest, warning that anything otherwise will be unaccepted.
He warned that any plan cooked up by anyone in the APC to exclude him from clinching the governorship ticket would amount to excluding the teeming members of the party in the state and bound to fail.
2023 Presidential bid: Group slams NYCN over demand for Amaechi’s resignation

A group under the aegis of Niger Delta Professionals, has condemned the recent call by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), asking the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi to resign over his recent declaration to run for presidency.
Speaking with Journalists in Port Harcourt, the group stated that rather than attack Amaechi, the leadership of the NYCN should engage the minister on his achievements and capacity to lead the nation.
President of the group, David Sikpa, said the youth NYCN was allegedly influenced to attack the presidential ambition of the Minister.
Sikpa who is also a public affairs analyst, stated “The NYCN has never had any issue with the performance of Amaechi in office until he declared for the 2023 presidential election.
“It is clear that NYCN has allowed itself to be used by weak persons who feel threatened by the undaunted personality and giant performance by the honourable minister of transport.
“Nigerians including victims have not indicted the minister in any way as his humanity was demonstrated when he immediately along with security agencies, visited the scene of the Kaduna train attack and commiserated with the victims.
“Nigerians felt the pulse of his sadness over the news and it was clear the security and safety of travellers has always been a priority to him.
“The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has confidence in the minister of transport and no amount of sponsored campaign has and will derail that.”
The group further advised NYCN not to allow itself to be used against other aspirants, “it should seek to engage every aspirant as a non-partisan group it ought to be but I doubt they would as they have allowed themselves to be used for selfish gains”.
